As we prepare for our artist reception, "FOCUS on Digital Art," we're excited to introduce the talented artists who will be showcasing their incredible works at our Newton office. Join us on Thursday, July 11th, from 5 PM to 6:30 PM, to experience their unique perspectives and creative expressions. Here's a glimpse into the fascinating backgrounds and artistic journeys of Ellen Feldman, Nicole Mordecai, Jenny Pivor, and Beth Crastnopel.

Jenny Pivor: Shape Shifting

Jenny Pivor’s art explores the intricate relationships and shared experiences that shape our world. Using a blend of painting, photography, and digital media, Jenny’s compositions resonate with the poetry of human interactions and emotions. Her work has been displayed at renowned venues such as the Griffin Museum of Photography and the Photographic Resource Center. With a career spanning art education, graphic web design, and self-publishing, Jenny's artistic journey is a testament to her resilience and creative spirit, particularly after turning to art full-time following her husband's passing in 2017. Ellen Feldman: City Stories

Ellen Feldman’s "City Stories" blends street photography with constructed images, capturing the raw essence of urban life. With a Ph.D. in Cinema Studies from NYU, Ellen's work is deeply influenced by film, emphasizing physical gesture, bold color, and narrative. Her composite images, like the “Urban Zips,” highlight the complexities of city environments. Ellen’s work has been showcased in solo exhibits at the Griffin Museum of Photography and the Davis Orton Gallery. Beth Crastnopol: Light Magic Photo Artistry

Beth Crastnopol’s journey into the art world began with a Brownie camera and a career as a special education teacher. Her photography, a meditative and spiritual practice, evolved significantly during the pandemic as she delved into photo compositing. Beth’s digital art creates whimsical and fantastical views of the world, aiming to bring joy and wonder to viewers. Nicole Mordecai: Dream Weavers

Nicole Mordecai’s “Dream Weavers” series transports viewers to a realm where imagination and reality intertwine. Her composite images, featuring draped figures amidst stars and lights, explore the boundaries between dreams and waking life. After a successful career in software design and research, Nicole embraced photography, finding joy in capturing and creating digital images.
