This week, Sarah Solomon of Moving Simply is back! She shared some simple yet ingenious tips on how to stay organized during the holidays with Erik and Randal. With all the family coming to visit, the shopping, and the food prep, you don't need additional stress figuring out where everything should go. Sarah also thinks these tips will help give you a jump on organizing if you decide to sell your house in the Spring. You’ll save yourself from dealing with the holiday aftermath in March!
Clean the Fridge
Sarah says: "Before hosting a big meal, take this opportunity to clear out anything in the fridge past an expiration date. Whatever is left can be categorized and put into clear plastic fridge drawers for easy access and shelves wiped down. Now your fridge is ready to hold those big platters (and looks impressive to guests)!"
Sarah says: It’s a good time to tackle your Tupperware drawer or cabinet — make a pile of containers you don’t need which can be used to send leftovers home for your guests. And maybe get some new food storage containers for yourself!
Sarah says: Get rid of your old worn out extra dining room seating and replace with nice folding chairs, you’ll save space the rest of the year not storing big chairs you rarely use.
The Guest Room
Sarah says: Don’t do a mad rush the day before to clear out the dining room/guest room etc. Do a first pass a week in advance and put things where they belong, all miscellany can go in a wicker bin with a lid to be sorted within a week of hosting. You can also label the bins using the exact label maker I use!
Toys and Kid's Clothes
Focus Real Estate says: Go through all the toys bins and closets. Bring all the toys that are unused and clothing that has been outgrown to our Cradles to Crayons drive! We can even come pick them up for you!
We at Focus Real Estate are serious about giving back to our community as much as we can. ...
